Just one night after DX defeated The Legacy at Hell in a Cell, HBK & The Game teamed up once again for a non-title win against the Unified Tag Team Champions.

Believe it or not, this is the first time Shawn has ever made it to the number 1 spot in the WWE Power 25!

DX def. Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show in a Non-Title Match (DIGITALS)

Earlier in the evening, Unified Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho & Big Show made the case that they are the greatest tag team ever assembled. A little tandem by the name of DX took issue, as you might imagine. As a man used to dealing with warring factions, Raw special guest host Ben Roethlisberger, his offensive line by his side, devised an idea brilliant in its simplicity: Settle it in the ring, fellas.

The mouthy Jericho & snarling Show, riding a wave of momentum after their victory over Batista & Rey Mysterio at Hell in a Cell the night before, seemed to dominate the match for a time. Triple H & Shawn Michaels, however, were coming off an equally lofty win over The Legacy. When the sand began to shift under their boots, the Unified Tag Team Champions thought they would simply quit and leave the ring. Unfortunately for them, their earlier insults prompted Roethlisberger and the Steelers offensive line to confront the two and corral them back into the squared circle. Once there, a waiting DX licked their chops and devoured the Unified Tag Team Champions for the victory.

Big Ben came out to the ring and started to address the crowd. Chris Jericho and Big came out. Roethlisberger called out his offensive line. The “five mediocres” came out to the ring. Jericho said they needed to huddle up and that JeriShow was the most dominate force in sports. They lined up and Show got in a three point stance, but thought twice and backed off.

DX’s music hit and that was the sound of Jericho and Show losing the tag titles to DX, since Hunter does not lose to Jericho. Jericho mockingly promoted DX merchandise. Hunter jokingly talked about Jericho’s hair. Michaels challenged JeriShow. Show told Shawn to heal up and come back another day. Big Ben booked the match for tonight and did the “If you’re not down with that…” line. DX and the Steelers did the DX chop to pyro in the ring.

X (Shawn Michaels and Triple H) defeated Big Show and Chris Jericho in a non-title match in 18:25.

Hunter and Jericho began the match together. They had an even exchange before Michaels tagged in. Cole reminded us of the epic rivalry they had in 2008. Show tagged in the cameraman got an awkward shot of the back of his thigh. Hunter tagged in and took his time to face off with Show… [C]

Back from commercial, Show had bearhug applied to Hunter. Show and Jericho handled Triple H in their corner. Eventually, Michaels tagged in and was able to do some damage, but he quickly succumbed to Show and Jericho. He was in the Walls for a long time but Hunter broke it up illegally.

[Overrun] Shawn hit an enziguiri on Show before he was able to tag in Triple H. Jericho tagged in and Hunter hit all of his signature spots. In fact, it was vintage Triple H. Cole said so. Show tried to double chokeslam DX, but he ended up double chokeslamming them instead. Michaels looked like Killer Khan with the green mist that came out of his mouth.

DX was able to get Show to the floor and they closelined him into the crowd. Jericho was alone in the ring with DX and once he realized it, he took off. Ben and the Steelers came out in DX shirts. They forced Jericho back toward the ring. DX rushed him back to the ring. HBK hit SCM and Hunter covered him for the win…

After the match, DX and the Super Bowl Champs celebrated. Cole exclaimed, “It is moments like these that make Raw the greatest show in the history of cable TV.” Wow, ever heard of “The Sopranos?” Cole called Ben, “Raw-lisberger.” Wow. They all did the crotch chop and were given pyro again…

The numbers appeared overwhelming for Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase even before the two set foot inside Satan’s Structure. Their opponents, Triple H & Shawn Michaels, have earned a combined 17 World Championships between them. Meanwhile, The Game has prevailed in five of seven Hell in a Cell Matches while HBK emerged victorious in the first ever match inside the Devil’s Playground.

Despite an impressive effort, The Legacy simply could not overcome those daunting figures and the determination of DX. While Rhodes & DiBaise came up short, there should be no shame in dropping a match to, arguably, the most imposing tag team in WWE history, especially after defeating DX in the months leading up to Hell in a Cell.

Perhaps realizing how formidable the task was that lay before them, Legacy attempted to secure the upper hand even before the opening bell, attacking DX as they made their way to the ring. Once the dust had settled, Legacy had dragged Michaels into the cell alone, locking The Game outside. After watching helplessly as his partner was being punished, Triple H had seen enough. He retrieved a pair of bolt cutters, broke into the cell and devastated Rhodes & DiBiase. The earlier attack seemed only to enrage Triple H & Michaels, who sought – and found – revenge once inside the 20-ft. tall, steel structure when they locked out DiBiase in order to punish Rhodes.

While DX capitalized on their experience and taught The Legacy a lesson they’ll likely never forget, there’s little doubt that with their effort, Rhodes & DiBiase earned a great deal of grudging respect from many in the WWE Universe.

From ProWrestling.net: During the main event, there was a small “get the hammer” chant for Triple H. The crowd wanted to be into it but it was paced so slow with Shawn Michaels taking a beating the whole time. After the match, DX went around ringside and shook hands and signed a fee autographs. Ted DiBiase got up and flipped out as Cody Rhodes was stretchered out.
